When visiting China, the best thing to do is binge eat on street food and authentic dishes and get drunk on their cheap beer. As a matter of fact, beer in China is dubbed to be the cheapest around the world—and now we know why.
Thousands of beer lovers love to binge on China’s beers because of how cheap they can be. But after this leaked video was revealed to the public, authorities are warning the public to make sure what they drink is the ‘real thing’. In the video believed to have been filmed in an underground factory in Dongguan, Guangzhou, women can be seen making and packing ‘fake’ Budweiser beer, which was about to be sold to the unknowing consumers.
The women can be seen dunking recycled Budweiser beer cans into a tub full of beer [of unknown source and ingredients], before lining them up in a conveyor belt to be sealed and delivered.
When local authorities raided the said factory, they were shocked to discover the amount of fake beer being produced. The boxes found in the underground factory amounted to a whopping 600,000 in number!
After being informed about the stash, a Budweiser representative reportedly informed Hong Kong-based Chinese-language newspaper, Ming Pao, that the company had reported the situation to the police and was in the midst of seeking legal action over the incident.
